7 Tips on Relishing 2024

Hi!

Ready to get on with it?

Too often, we race into a new year with resolutions, eager to change, improve, or achieve something new.

While there’s nothing wrong with forward-thinking, this mindset can overlook the importance of reflecting on and RELISHING the year we’re leaving behind.

Relish—To enjoy, savor, or find satisfaction in an experience or activity.

Whether it was a year of triumphs or trials, each moment carried lessons, growth, and meaning if you look for it.

Before running into 2025, take a moment to pause and relish 2024.

Here are seven tips to help you:

➡️ Tip 1: Celebrate Your Wins

As you reflect on the year, consider your accomplishments—big and small. It could be something as significant as a career change or as simple as starting a new practice or staying consistent with a healthy habit.

Write them down. Let yourself feel gratitude for your efforts.

Celebrating your wins isn’t about boasting; it’s about honoring the moments when you showed up for yourself and others.

Reflection Prompt: What’s one achievement from 2024 that you can honor?

My win: Staying consistent with my workouts. They make a big difference in my mood and ability to stay centered when the sh** hits the fan! 💪🏻

➡️ Tip 2: Acknowledge Your Challenges

No year is without its trials and tribulations.

Reflecting on these doesn’t mean dwelling on the negative but recognizing what you’ve moved through.

Challenges shape us—they test our resilience and push us to grow.

We “get” who we are and discover what we can do during challenging times. The regular, status quo, everyday normal, structured life doesn’t inform us of our character and strength.

Ask yourself: What did I learn from them? How have they changed my outlook or priorities?

Reflection Prompt: What challenge from 2024 taught you the most about yourself and will take you into 2025 with a new perspective?

The Challenges I acknowledge: One challenge was staying true to my business offer — the demographic I serve, and not getting distracted by shiny objects. 🥳

➡️ Tip 3: Reflect on the Lessons Learned

Growth doesn’t only come from significant life events—it’s often hidden in everyday moments.

Spend time thinking about the lessons you learned in 2024.

Maybe you learned to set boundaries (a favorite of mine), became more patient, or discovered a new way to provide a solution.

Lessons are gifts you carry into the new year and can help you make more intentional choices.

Reflection Prompt: What lesson stands out that you’ll carry into 2025?

My lessons learned: Setting clear boundaries helps me and allows me to help others, being quiet is a beautiful thing, always seeing the value in others makes a difference in their life and mine, and coaching is my favorite skill and offer. 💥

➡️ Tip 4: Take Stock of Relationships and Connections

Relationships and connections make our lives turn. Think about the people who added to your year. Did you reconnect with an old friend? Clear up something with a relationship? Make new connections?

Importantly, consider relationships that may no longer serve you. Letting go of connections that drain you or no longer align with your values is okay.

Reflection Prompt: Which relationships brought you the most joy in 2023? What relationships can you let go of?

My relationships and connections: Whew. As I get older with more clarity, I understand that I can’t affect anyone else’s thoughts or choices.

I can only affect my practices and responses. This understanding has helped me set boundaries and form new relationships and connections with an open heart.

➡️ Tip 5: Relish the Small, Joyous moments

Life’s beauty often lies in the little things: the laughter of a loved one, a cup of coffee with a friend, or a beautiful sunset 🌅. These moments are easy to overlook in our hustle, but they make our lives richer and more meaningful.

Think about these moments. Relish them to remind yourself that happiness doesn’t always come from grand achievements. Sometimes, it shows up in life’s regular everyday moments.

Reflection Prompt: What small moments brought you unexpected joy this year?

My small, joyous moments were helping our elderly neighbor, supporting clients and their fears, getting through a food order in Spanish, and walking our dogs on the beach.

➡️ Tip 6: Celebrate Adaptability

Not everything went as planned in 2024—and that’s okay.

Life rarely unfolds in a straight line. Relish the moments when you adjusted, found a new path, or kept going. Those are victories worth celebrating.

Adaptation invites creativity and growth. When we honor the twists and turns of life, we make space for authenticity, resilience, and peace so we can thrive.

Reflection Prompt: How can you celebrate how you’ve adapted this year?

My adaptability: Life called. I listened. Now, we’re selling our lovely, beautiful, fantastic home in Costa Rica to move to Europe and be closer to our children and grandchildren—a combination of joy and grief. Adapt, adapt, adapt!

➡️ Tip 7: Honor Your Growth

Take a few moments to appreciate how far you’ve come this year.

Growth isn’t always noticeable—it can happen in small, incremental ways.

Maybe you’ve become more patient, more confident, or more adaptable.

Perhaps you’ve developed a new skill or gained a deeper understanding of yourself.

Honoring your growth isn’t about measuring yourself against others or ticking off boxes. It’s about recognizing your quiet, meaningful progress and letting it fill you with gratitude.

Reflection Prompt: How have you grown or changed in ways that matter to you?

Honoring my growth: I am more peaceful, ready to take on life, open to what comes, breathing more deeply, and feeling more content than I have in years.

Relishing the past year is about more than just reflection—it’s about honoring the experiences, emotions, and growth that brought you to this moment.

As you step into 2025, take the lessons, joys, and even the hardships of 2024 with you.

These moments are part of your story, shaping the person you’re becoming.

Before the rush of 2025 is upon you, give yourself the gift of relishing everything this past year has been because when you do, you’ll enter the new year with a sense of clarity, gratitude, and a deeper connection to others and yourself.

Here’s to relishing 2024 and embracing 2025 with open arms.🚀

See you then!

With love and encouragement,

Jeanne 🌺
